Breakthrough Refresher Weekends

More dates are now available through the fall of 2010! 

For alumni of Breakthrough programs and Caron's Center for Self Development
During your first experience at Breakthrough, you focused on current issues from a childhood perspective.  Breakthrough Refresher Weekends will build on the concepts you’ve learned and help bring your “adult self” on board, allowing you to begin parenting yourself and develop as a healthy adult.

Breakthrough Mansion - Wernersville, PA

Cost:
$650 – Includes 2 nights lodging at Harmony House and meals from Friday evening to Sunday lunch. 
Full payment is required upon registration.  Cancellations made up to 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the workshop will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.  A 50% refund will be given for cancellations made less than 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the workshop.  Travel expenses are non-refundable regardless if the cancellation  is made by the participant or if the program is cancelled due to low enrollment.  Group size is 14 maximum.

An Evening with Ann Smith

Moving Families Forward: From Trauma and Chaos to Healing and Emotional Health
This workshop and discussion will focus on ways to facilitate long term change in the quality of relationships and family life for those affected by addiction, mental illness or cross generational family of origin issues.  All Caron and Breakthrough alumni, anyone in the recovery community, and clinical professionals are welcomed to attend this FREE event! 

CEU credits are available for clinical professionals!

1.5 hours of didactic .5 of discussion and questions
Goal:  To provide helping professionals with a positive perspective and long term plan for the families and individuals they treat.  The presentation will cover a variety of successful modalities based on attachment and family systems theory.

Participants will:
1.  Identify the stages of family recovery from the challenges of addiction or mental illness in a family member.
2.  Obtain a long term view of the cross generational impact of untreated family of origin issues.
3.  Expand their view of what is possible for a family system in pain and the path to a vastly improved quality of life.
4.  Understand the essential role of creating and maintaining connection throughout any treatment approach to family
     recovery.

Caron Treatment Centers is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  Caron Treatment Centers Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  This program offers 2 CE credits for psychologists.  Full attendance is required to receive credit for psychologists, variable credit for partial attendance may not be awarded based on the APA guidelines.
